RTO Ladakh Code 2024: The responsibility for providing safe, efficient, and affordable transportation services in the region lies with the Ladakh Transport Department. Since February 2019, Ladakh has become a Union Territory, breaking away from its previous connection to the Kashmir Division. The unique registration mark for vehicles in Ladakh features the letters ‘LA’.
Leading this department is the Commissioner/Secretary, alongside the Regional Transport Officer and the Assistant Regional Transport Officers based in Leh and Kargil. Interestingly, there is only one Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Ladakh, supported by two Assistant Regional Transport Offices (ARTO). The main RTO office is located in Bemathang, Baroo, Kargil, Ladakh-194103, while the two ARTO offices can be found in Leh-194104 and Kargil-194103.
