Uttarakhand RTO 2024: Present Running Number, RC Card Download
Uttarakhand RTO Code 2024: Founded in 1945, the Transport Department occupies a crucial role within Uttarakhand’s transportation framework. It was established in accordance with Section 133 A of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1939. In the earlier days, when Uttarakhand was still part of Uttar Pradesh, the department was overseen by the Transport Commissioner from U.P. However, with Uttarakhand gaining statehood on November 9, 2000, the Transport Department was officially created, complete with its own Transport Commissioner.
Another essential entity in Uttarakhand’s transport landscape is the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC), which was reorganized and rebranded as the “Uttarakhand Transport Corporation.” This organization began its services on October 31, 2003, focusing on providing transport across nationalized and interstate routes.
The Transport Commissioner’s Office, led by the Transport Commissioner, is integral to the administration and oversight of the department’s diverse operations. It is divided into four regions and sixteen sub-regions, facilitating efficient governance and enforcement of transportation regulations. Additionally, there are twenty enforcement squads dedicated to enhancing road safety and ensuring compliance with the standards established by the Transport Department.
