To purchase a car through the CSD Canteen, you must ensure you have a CSD Smart Card, making you eligible for this service. Customers who hold a CSD Smart Card can buy a car from the CSD canteen. Eligible customers of the CSD URC canteen have the privilege to purchase a car through the CSD AFD online portal. However, the revised eligibility criteria specify that only Defence Civilian officers, including retirees with a pay matrix level above 10, are permitted to buy a car through the CSD AFD portal.
If you are considering purchasing a second car from the CSD canteen, you must adhere to the revised norms outlined on the official portal. Start by selecting the brand, model, variant, and color of the car from the nearest authorized CSD dealer and obtain an ‘Availability Certificate.’ Next, visit the CSD AFD official portal, choose the same brand, model, variant, and color, and select the URC canteen to acquire a Local Supply Order (LS Order). Once your request is approved, pay through your bank account. Finally, collect the LS Order from the designated URC canteen and proceed to purchase your chosen vehicle.
